Defined by Durability.
TIDURA® – Engineered as One.
When you’re on the move, nothing should get in the way of your plans – not even the material. TIDURA® was developed to withstand exactly that: rain, travel, and years of use.

Where fabric, coating, and welding become one. Woven in Benelux, coated and welded in Heilsbronn. Designed from the ground up – engineered, not sourced.
TIDURA® is not a catalog material, but a material system developed, manufactured, and quality-controlled by Ortlieb in-house – from the textile base and coating to the seam and welding technology.
The result is one standard: made in Heilsbronn, waterproof, robust – for people who are on the move every day.

ORTLIEB products are engineered for intensive use. Materials and craftsmanship are optimized for abrasion resistance, durability, and repairability. If a component is damaged, the product usually doesn't need to be discarded — parts are designed to be replaceable whenever possible.
TPU coating. Abrasion resistance. Repair. Spare parts. Service.

When it comes to water, there are no compromises: a product either protects permanently or not at all. TIDURA® products are built on a strictly waterproof construction: welded seams, proven closures, and materials engineered specifically for the stresses of water pressure, rain, and movement.
IP67, IP64, and IP53. High-frequency welding. TIZIP® zippers. Roll closures.

The world is complicated enough — your gear shouldn't be. TIDURA® was developed as part of the proven ORTLIEB system: material, welding processes, closure solutions, repairability, and manufacturing integrate seamlessly.
Heilsbronn. Controlled processes. Engineered as a system.

ENGINEERED AS ONE
The interplay of the four protective layers.
Layer 1: TIDURA® material.
Layer 2: High-frequency welded seam.
Layer 3: Closure system.
Layer 4: Hardware components, replaceable, repairable.
Why true waterproofness goes far beyond the fabric.
A waterproof bag is never just the fabric alone. It comes down to how the material is coated. How the seams are welded. How the closures are engineered. And how easily parts can be repaired.
TIDURA® is precisely designed for this complete system.
Robust fabric, seamlessly fused.
Material: TPU-coated technical fabric.
Construction: HF-welded seams eliminate traditional weak points caused by sewing threads.
Closure: Roll closure or TIZIP® — depending on the product’s intended use.
Service for long-term use.
Service: Directly at the factory or via a worldwide service network of local partners.
Repair: Simple repairs and replacement parts enable years of extended use.

Frequently asked questions about TIDURA®
What is TIDURA®?
TIDURA® is a new ORTLIEB material engineered to meet the same high standards of quality and performance as all other ORTLIEB materials. It is a robust PU fabric featuring a proprietary coating that offers an exceptional combination of stability, tear resistance, and weather resistance.
What is TIDURA® made of?
TIDURA® consists of a woven textile base from the Benelux region, which is finished with an in-house polyurethane (PU) coating in Heilsbronn.
Why did ORTLIEB develop TIDURA®?
By handling the coating process on-site, ORTLIEB gains full control over operations, prevents potential contamination, and benefits from short supply routes. Furthermore, this deep vertical integration ensures consistently high quality.
TIDURA® embodies what ORTLIEB is all about: well-designed, independent, and rugged. TIDURA® is more than just a fabric – it completes ORTLIEB’s ecosystem of rugged, self-contained components.
Where is the material produced?
The base fabric is woven in the Benelux region and coated right next door to the primary ORTLIEB plant by its sister company, Gesellschaft für dichtende Systeme (GDS).
Why are there still PVC bags in the collection?
As an exceptionally robust and resilient material, PVC remains part of the collection for the time being. All PVC is sourced exclusively from Germany. However, over 70% of the ORTLIEB collection is already PVC-free, and this share is continuously expanding.
What is the difference between TIDURA® and a product’s IP rating?
TIDURA® describes the raw material (a high-strength, coated fabric). An IP (Ingress Protection) rating evaluates the dustproof and waterproof capabilities of the complete finished product. The material provides the waterproof foundation, while the final IP rating is achieved through the interplay of material, welding, and closure.
How durable is TIDURA®, and how is it tested?
TIDURA® features high tear strength and abrasion resistance, as well as resistance to UV radiation, cold, and temperature fluctuations.
During material testing, every batch undergoes strict checks in accordance with DIN EN ISO 1421:2017, including tensile strength tests with values exceeding 1,500 newtons for TIDURA® core and 2,400 newtons for TIDURA® strong.
How should TIDURA® be cleaned?
Simply wipe down with warm water and a soft cloth—harsh cleaning agents should be avoided.
