ORTLIEB-Warranty

The ORTLIEB warranty, limited to five years, is a voluntary warranty provided by the manufacturer. It grants additional rights independent of the rights granted by consumer protection laws. Should a product be replaced within the warranty period, the date of first delivery continues to apply to the five-year warranty period.

This worldwide, free of charge warranty of five years from delivery refers to material defects and processing errors. Scuff marks, holes and cracks caused by the customer's own fault are not covered by the warranty. Claims for defects due to normal wear and tear, improper use, non-observance of the assembly instructions, third-party intervention as well as due to improper storage are excluded. No warranty is given for damage due to improper care and improper use. As a rule, however, such damage can be repaired at cost price.

Consumer Protection Law

Important: The provisions of the ORTLIEB warranty, which is limited to five years, do not apply to claims arising from statutory consumer protection rights. These statutory rights are not limited by the warranty. Thus, the benefits under the five-year limited ORTLIEB warranty are intended to supplement and not replace the rights granted by consumer protection laws.

If a product is defective, consumers may in particular claim the rights under §§ 434 et seq., §§ 474 et seq. of the German BGB (German Civil Code). Consumers can choose whether to claim performance under the ORTLIEB warranty, which is limited to five years, or under their statutory consumer protection rights.

The first point of contact for warranty claims is always the specialist or online dealer with whom the purchase contract for the product was concluded. This warranty is subject to the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany.

ORTLIEB’s frame bag with roll closure helps you start off your bike packing adventure well-prepared. Thanks to the waterproof roll closure —which is closed by three silicone rings— paired with the proven nylon fabric, your luggage inside the bag stays absolutely dry even in the most adverse conditions. The Frame-Pack RC is ideal for storing heavy luggage, such as tools or food, centrally on the bike. This maintains a low center of gravity so that the trail fun remains high even when fully loaded. The roll closure and its large opening allow easy access and easy packing of the bag. The assembly within the frame triangle is done with strong and robust hook and loop fasteners. The specific positioning of the hook and loop straps along the circumference of the bag enables individual adjustment to the dimensions of your bike. The Frame Pack RC is available in two sizes —4 and 6 liters — and suitable for mounting on carbon frames.

Can I mount the Frame-Pack on a carbon frame?

Yes, the Frame-Pack can also be mounted on carbon frames. We recommend applying protective film at the contact points to avoid abrasion and damage.

How compatible is the Frame-Pack with different bicycle frames?

The Frame-Pack can be easily attached to most bicycle frames thanks to its variably positionable hook-and-loop fasteners. The robust, high-grip straps are simply fixed to the top tube, seat tube, and down tube and can be individually adjusted or shortened. To check whether the Frame-Pack in your desired size fits your bike, you’ll find a printable template in the “Downloads” section. Cut it out and place it on your frame triangle to see immediately whether the bag fits perfectly.

Should I choose the roll-top or zipper version of the ORTLIEB Frame-Pack?

Both closure variants are waterproof and designed for tough bikepacking use, but differ in their IP waterproof rating, handling, and access to contents. The zipper version allows particularly quick access, ideal if you frequently need tools or food on the go. The roll-top version offers a larger opening and makes loading and unloading easier, especially with bulky gear like tent poles or cookware.

How securely does the Frame-Pack sit on the bike during rides on rough terrain?

The Frame-Pack sits firmly in the frame triangle thanks to its strong hook-and-loop fasteners and remains stable even on rough trails. The wide straps ensure a non-slip hold on different frame shapes. Even with heavy loads or vibrations, nothing wobbles and the bag stays perfectly in place.
